...But I think I'm actually done with it now. For a while at least.
NRS mentioned there'll be a huge balancing patch soon (I believe), so I'll probably try it again when that happens. I don't think it will suddenly make me enjoy the game, because mostly my problems are with the mechanics and not the characters, but I'll give it a shot.
I played earlier tonight; I asked Loog if he wanted to play, then had to update which took about 40 minutes, which is ridiculous for just a character update (MMH). Weren't the MK ones less than 100MB? Unless they added something I'm unaware of...
Anyway, Loog was offline when the update finished but I hopped on anyway, after spending that much time waiting to play I may as well have. First match after getting on was someone in the lobby, they used batgirl, which I hate fighting and is so boring. I used Scorpion first, think I lost twice, then used GA and won. After that they left. Next person used MMH, which I obviously had no idea how to fight, and they had no idea how to play. I used Scorpion and won, they switched to Superman and won, then they left. I messaged them.
Next guy was someone on my list, he used The Flash, which was so boring to fight. The entire match was either me defending against his 50/50's, or me using 50/50's to get a combo with Scorpion, I find this incredibly boring and doesn't feel like there's any skill to playing at all. I played two matches and just left. Apologised to the guy for leaving so soon and explained why.
For me, this game is just gimmicks, 50/50's and zoning.
I think my overall tolerance for fighting games is incredibly low atm. When I play MK, if I drop a combo due to lag I usually have no interest in the rest of that match, I'll just start teabagging or something. If I'm really pissed I'll just straight up quit the match. A weird problem lately that gets me pissed is a Rain combo; after doing bubble and positioning for uppercut combo, I'll be holding up to direct the bubble, but it goes to the left randomly, perhaps this is my controller but this doesn't happen in any other situation.
Even MK as a side game my tolerance is low. I've been playing Hitman: Absolution the past few days (awesome game !) and playing MK now and again, but still have the same issues.
