My PS3 going senile

last couple of days been having some issues with the PS3, keeps freezing and shit. i was hoping it would fix itself out but maybe not. gotta take it to a technician.

any suggestions? could it be the disc reader?
plus its making a loud noise after sometime, like an engine in the carhood or something ... i dont know. its fucked up! and im pissed!

Pff cunty ps3. My ps3 crashed once because of overheating, once the reader was broken. i made 1 working ps3 with 2 broken onces. if you ship it to sony, youll get another reviewed ps3 in 4-6 weeks! Do u have waranty? They exchange broken ps3 out of warranty for 150 euro. ill wait untill he reaaly get broken, dont play hours and opem cover to avoid overheat

my PS3 is 5 years old, its the first PS3 model the big one which looks like a microwave next to the slim ones :) warranty might be long gone, ill check if i still have the paperwork tho.
4-6 weeks of wait is gonna be a bitch. dont know, gonna try and get it to a technician. the overheating part is really worrying me :(

You can buy a PS3 slim for ridiculous money now. But speaking of weird PS3 behavior, mine, which is the newest one here apparently with only 6-7 months under its belt, has been acting weird too.

The game has been crashing often, but I'm not sure whether that's the crappy MK server or my PS3 (since PS functions still work when the game freezes up online). What really bugs me though is that the AV connection cable seems to have gotten fucked up. I would move my PS every once in a while to my dads cause he's got a way better TV. It seems the connector got damaged or something cause of all the moving (which was like once a week o.O). Seriously, I'd understand that such a thing would happen if I did it every day, several times, but ONCE a week?! Anyhow, now my sound or video output is all effed up as soon as you touch the damned cable... Annoying as hell.

Oh, and it's been sounding kind of weird lately, like a PC cooler when it's full of dirt. Does anyone know how you should go about cleaning your PS?
