1 Why MK9 characters are unbalanced on Sun Sep 02, 2012 10:41 pm

1. Kabal 

Kabal players are all crap there all the same when I face a Kabal I just quit the game thats how sick I'm getting from Kabal. All they do is do that backwards jump at the beginning of the game and hit you with a laser and if your stupid enough to jump that means your totally screwed because you won't get out of his mix ups. His dashes are way over powered and and his pokes are to fast you will not be able to get out of them and if you try get of the pokes your just going be tossed back in. If you block the pokes that pussy is just going to be able to grab you even when your not near him. That son of a bitch knee of his is MADE OUT OF IRON! If your crouching/standing and that knee will fuck you up because of the chip damage it leads onto another punish EVEN WHEN YOUR BLOCKING. 

Summary
.His dashes and grabs are overpowerred (not damage wise)
.He has to many pokes and you can't get of them
.He has several moves/combos that have a stupid amount of chip damage

2. Mileena 

Mileena isnt damage wise overpowered but sure is when it comes to pokes, punishes and reaction time. This sexy bitch has teleports that are just completely surreal! With most characters when you teleport and bump into a blocked character you stop for a bit for example Scorpion when he teleports and hits a character that is blocking he stops but with this bitch! When she teleports she could do a roll or another projectile attack. Imagine if you could do that with Scorpion or Ermac you know you all will be fucked because the punishes and pokes will last forever! 

When she does an overhead kick she doesn't stop like a normal fucking person NOOOOO she carries on and decides to do another move after, like a roll even when the opposing player is blocking! 

Summary
. Her reaction time is to fast
. Shes overpowered poke and punish wise
. Can pretty much do a combo or mix up in any situation 

3. Kung Lao 

I hate this cunt more than his buddy Lui mother fucking Kang! His able to throw his hat on the floor and decide to launch it when he likes thankfully thats an ex move. He can move his hat up and down while its in the air (why can't reptile just take shit in his hat) his teleports oh boy its just like Mileenas you could kick in the air or do another teleport. His 2,2's are to strong and ECSPECIALLY.... his spins the most over gayest yet most powerful self defence I have ever come across once he does that spin your in for a world for rolls and hat tosses. 

Summary
. Spins are overpowered
. Projectiles are to controllable
. Pokes are crazy! 

This is why MK9 is so unbalanced

You really need to learn the game before calling it unbalanced,it's the most balanced fighter except VF5.

Of course kabal's pokes beat yours,he's + from the dashes,know what you should do?block them,a blocked d3 from kabal leaves him at -7,tada pressure over.

Kung lao's d3 is the slowest in the game.

his spin is full combo punishable.

he wastes a bar for the hat when all you gotta do is block a string or step back...

learn to punish the teles.

her u3 is +9 for her,you have to block the followup,she can be poked out of u3

Kabal's mixups leave him at -,saw can be punished and ends his momentum,so does the grab.

you need to learn how to punish moves and read frame data.

This is your reason for it being unbalanced? Listing 3 characters?

You know how annoying it is listening to people complain about Kabal alllllll the time? Learn to fight against him. If he jumps back and FIREZZ HIS LAZORRR at the start of the match, then why are you jumping?

Mileena's teleport is punishable.

Lao online is Lao. Offline he's not as bad.

Lao offline is still a very good character, or so my experience with the bot tells me so. But he is nowhere nearly as unpunishable as he is online. Qwark is right, his blocked or whiffed spin leads to a full combo punish. His projectiles are decent but they can be stopped by IA projectiles or by teleportation punishes. Lao does have very good mixup options and good 50/50s, so you've gotta fuzzy guard and try and anticipate what he'll do. I'm not saying it's easy, but it's not impossible. What get's me most is how mobile the cunt is, lol. He's all over the goddamn screen.

Kabal is a character who seriously causes trouble for me, but I can't say he's unstoppable. His pressure is punishable, if you can time it right, it's blockable and it's pokeable. You just gotta know when to do it, much like when you're trying to poke out of JCs pressure. I don't really find his grabs problematic or his projectiles. The saw is a bitch to trade projectile fire with, so unless you're in a big life lead, don't do it. It is a bit slow, though, so you can jump it, especially if it's from fullscreen. At the very least, you can block it. You can also punish it, but it depends which character you're using.

Mileena is quick, she's mobile, has a freakishly low hitbox and can combo off of almost anything. The plus side is, her moves are punishable - you just have to know how to punish them properly. Telekick is extremely unsafe for her (trust me, I know) as is the roll. The roll is fully punishable into combo - again, if you know how. Her strange hitbox is what gets most players. Don't fear her pokes. She can't d4 you till she kills you. Again, you can punish, but it depends who you're using. If she's getting d4 happy, move away, time the dash, bitch slap her. Alternatively, slime ball her. U4 is even punishable by uppercut, let alone pokes. You can even poke her out of U4 and then combo her - Kabal can do it, Kit can do it, Smoke can do it (these are the one's I've seen punish U4). Sure, she can punish everything, but she can't get more than 20-26% off of it. Even if she expends two bars, she won't get more than 31-32% and no player in their right mind would burn their bar for 5-6 percent extra damage. Her damage is seriously scaled down. The best combo she can do without xray is 42%. Kit can get up to 56% and let's not even get into the wonders Cyrax or Kratos can do if they've got two bars. Oh, let alone rune trapping QC.

uhhh... 34%?That look like a lot for 2 bars?

Where did this kung lao mixup thing come from?he has no 50-50s usable in any way,he has b33 which you should always be blocking because it's standard to block low vs lao and his 24 which as always followed by the overhead because if it's followed with a blocket low hat it means full combo punish.

as for overheads he has F2 which lets his 2 be 6f,still slow as fuck.

online, Mileena is a true bitch.
Offline, she's a bitch too but its easier to punish.

remark: not all chars can punish her easily or fully. Ermac for example will fuck her up real good everytime she telekicks. Sub can too but its a bit trickier, and you got know the timings, specially online. JC can really fuck her up!

ill check with UPS, and see where its at.

I agree with both you and wolf Lao is crap online but for some reason the Lao players just change offline. I never said I jump at the beginning of the match -_-

I know that you can easily stop his dash by blocking but thats before he starts pressuring. When he starts doing that sword crap and mixing it with the dash thats where I have my trouble. 

When you start blocking he starts doing that pressure and I just can't seem to get out of it because of that dash, his able to stop it when he likes so he won't crash into me and lean back. I know that sounds confusing but how do you get out of that pressure! I just gets me so messed up so any tips?

Shadow can help you on that, probably Ruby too. I dont have access to RYM at the moment and these boys maining Kabal specially Shadow. There are a few string i know that you shouldnt try to poke out of coz of their advantage,

Everytime he cancels his dash from a string other than f4 then he's +,means that his d3 will beat anything you do except armour,block the d3 and all the pressure is over and you're free to pressure him since you're at +.

poke when you know he's not going to and when he finishes the string he's gonna cancel,wait too long and he'll already be mid-string again which will full combo punish you for being too slow.

111 NDC has huge advantage,you can't do anything after it.

2 ndc is an infinite when standing,take the 2,start crouching and the 2 will whiff.

eating the saw or blade is like 10% and you're off all pressure,blocking the saw is a dash and full combo punish,hookswords are - something but with pushback so they can iagb when you try to punish.

F4 is 9f so it will beat pretty much everything you do,it's a check to if you're going to poke,if you do block it then even after a NDC hes at -5,pressures over.

and i got that USB from Athens :) all the USBs there had flowers and birds on em. so i had no choice really.
