Hey trannies,
One word: Awesome
Not everyone was there, but I got the chance to have a long session 3 hrs or so with Hidan and his Quan. I got more flawlessed then I got in a year playing online and you lot. :)
I think I just beat him maybe 5 out of 35-40 matches and those were extremely hard, and luck was on my side sometimes.
The things I learned from those plus the training sessions are NOT in any forum or TYM link, these guys are on a different level altogether. Forget about what you see on TYM because even the US pros don't explain everything. There are tips and techniques that never crossed my mind, ranging from MU to execution to general gameplay.
He played Cage without relying on f3s, go figure. The guy has his own philosophy on mk fighting. Totally different experience.
I am very glad I got to do AAs regularly, but he would always find a way to break a defense so it didn't really matter because I was getting floored every match.
Biggest problem I came about was defending against cross overs, and I gotta work on that.
I am having a session this afternoon as well, with a bigger group. Qwarkie will be there too (I hope) . Try to tune in to the live stream guys, we were on stream yesterday :)
More info to follow after day2.
I strongly urge all of you to seriously and doggedly search for offline scene, players, tourneys. Online is a toned down and easy version of the game with close to no high level gameplay exposure. Reaction times are key, and online it's non existent not to mention frame data shortfalls.
Cheers everyone, wish us luck today :)
