Came across this by accident while doing some random bs in practice mode and been debating this for a week now, in my head, whether or not it has potential and also looking at the frame data...
i bounced the idea with Qwark, at the time I agreed with him that it didn't have any legitamacy. BUT further testing, which as you will is still not conclusive can have some bearings on the way Cyrax is played.
I've asked Mustard to put it to the test, and he thinks it could have some use and would like to test it further.
So without further ado, it goes somethig like this:
it involves cancelling a f2 into a bomb.
on block -
f2 gives +11, close bomb is 11 startup so no advantage there. and i guess both players would be equal afterwards and Cyrax loses his advantage to pressure more. but the reward for doing such a setup could be high. further testing is needed and since i don't play Cyrax maybe some of you guys could help me out and feedback on outcome and any possible setups afterwards.
on hit - (and this is what i discovered only yesterday)
the second hit of the f2 doesnt come out at all, and instead the opp is hit with first one then the bomb comes out (opp is left standing in a stagger state).
now the question is: "how much of a stagger?" because there is no frame data for this normal into bomb.
a possible scenario, if the stagger is long enough and Cyrax throws out a mid bomb after the hit f2 (first hit of the f2)then following up with a block string will push them on top of the bomb if they cannot armor out and not all chars can armor out btw or xray out if possible. this would be similar to the trap Cyrax had that was taken out involving his command grab.
Conclusion:
on block - may or may not be legit, its an option
on hit - definitely needs testing in lack of frame data
any thoughts? please discuss
